Raising funds for Matt Stabb’s specialist wheelchair
When KBF saw Matt’s campaign to raise funds for a powered wheelchair, we decided to hold a Xmas Raffle and Auction to help his appeal.
Matt, who has lived with cerebral palsy since birth is unable to walk and with restricted mobility in his upper body, Matt relies on a powered wheelchair and lots of help to live an independent life. But this hasn’t stopped him living his life to the full and he loves helping others.
Matt works for the Wiltshire Centre for Independent Living, helping people who use health and social care services to contribute effectively to shaping social policy. His disability hasn’t dampened his overwhelmingly positive attitude which has been given another challenge recently following diagnosis of testicular cancer. But that’s something he is determined to overcome. And will.
Surgery was completed at the end of October and the prognosis is good.
The donations came flooding in and instead of the usual two draws a day over 14 days, we had to make it three draws a day which showed how many prizes were given.
The prizes were all amazing and included items from top stars such as Ed Sheeran, Romesh Ranganathan, Ed Bryne and the Script to name but a few.

The total raised in the Raffle was £2,126.19
Next there was the Auction and again some great prizes were kindly donated as per the list below also.
The Grand Prix prize went for a fantastic £1,300 alone.
Charity auction & raffle raises £4,095
So overall after all the expenses of postage was made, a grand total of £4,095.99 was raised and this meant Matt now had enough to purchased his specially powered wheelchair from the US.
