BEATTIE IS BACK MAKES DEBUT

Thursday 6th January saw the Foundations horse, Beattie is Back, make his debut at Newcastle in the 1.00pm Novice Race for Three years old and upwards, Class 5.

With 12 runners, Beattie is Back was ridden by Jockey Tony Hamilton.

Trainer Richard Fahey, who kindly offered the Foundation to name his horse, was the leading course trainer so hopes were high.

Before the Race, Richard organised it for Founder Malcolm Thompson to be interviewed on Sky to discuss the Horse and Foundation which was great publicity for KBF.

The race over 6 furlongs, saw Beattie is Back unfortunately have troubles coming out the Stalls at the beginning which led him being back on the field. He quickly had a good turn of pace and this saw him overtaking a few of the horses as he tried to quickly make headway with the front runners.

Although he raced a good half of the race, the start sadly cost him a place and ended up 6th.

This was a decent start for the horse in his first outing and he showed enough potential to realise he is definitely one to follow and will soon get a win under his belt.

We want to extend our sincere thanks to Richard Fahey for not only allowing KBF to have a horse named after Ipswich Town’s greatest player but all the hospitality shown at the Race.

Having spoken to the Trainer afterwards, we are very confident Beattie is Back is History in the making as Richard {Fahey) believes there are many wins in the horse.

Later that day, Beattie is Back won the BTO (Best turned out) which was nice to see and again gives all hope that the future is bright.

Roll on the next race which is now Thursday 20th January back at Newcastle.
