Third time lucky as ‘Beattie is Back’ grabbed his first win on Friday 4 February 2022.

Newcastle Racecourse saw Beattie is Back return to make his third race in six weeks.

Unfancied by the Bookies, Beattie is Back was number 2 in the 6.45pm The Play Coral Racing Super Series For Free Novice Stakes (Class 5).

As the race unfolded, the Foundation’s horse was sitting at the back at the half way stage when suddenly jockey Tony Hamilton got BIB to react and fought his way through the pack in front of him to explode into an exciting race which saw a very close finish.

A close finish that saw Beattie nudge ahead to win at 16/1.

There were wild celebrations by the Foundation’s founder & partner along with some of the Richard Fahey Racing Club members at the winning post.

In the winners enclosure the KBF Flag was flying high as the horse was paraded round and Tony the jockey was being interviewed.

Back in the owner’s hospitality bar, the champagne was flowing as the celebrations started.

It was a brilliant ride by Tony Hamilton and it showed without doubt that Beattie is Back has an exciting future ahead of him and now all those connected await to see what handicap rating BIB is given before decisions are made by the owner on where they go next in BIB’s next race/career.
